The fishing in San Diego Bay has been excellent over the last week. Spotted Bay Bass continue to bite from the mouth of the bay all the way back to the South Bay. There is also a lot of Halibut mixed in with the Spotted Bay Bass. Most of these have been ranging from 12-18″ inches but we have landed a few that were keeper size on artificial lure. If you have live bait it is different story. Lots of keepers to be had. Sand Bass are biting in the Channel north of the Coronado Bridge and there is some fun fishing for all three species of bass (Spotted Bay Bass, Calico Bass, and Sand Bass) around the the bait barge area. Shortfin Corvina and Barracuda are biting on jerkbaits and topwater lures from Shelter Island all the way to the back bay. Expect this action to continue over the coming months.
