The inshore fishing this week has been similar to weeks past. The evening winds have made it tough to fish the afternoon, but there are fish to catch if you get out early or are willing to brave the weather. Calico Bass are biting along the Point Loma Kelp Beds if you find the right conditions. Chumming with anchovies is the best way to get these to go. Mixed in the the calico bass are some smaller Barracuda and Mackerel. Rockfish are biting at all the usually bottom fishing spots. Bonito are beginning to fill in south of Point Loma and should start to bite soon. Good sign of Yellowtail moving up the line as there is a large biomass off Ensenada moving north. They should cross the border in a couple weeks and make for some fun summer time fishing! Book now so you don’t miss out on the action!
