This February was one of the wettest in recent memory! It seemed like every week we had a storm blowing through. While this definitely limited our opportunities to get out on the water it certainly did not have much effect on the fishing! The spotted bay bass were once again the stars of the show, and we had counts as high as 103 on some of our half day trips! Lots of quality fish mixed in. We’ve also been seeing an abnormally high number of quality halibut considering the weather or cold water temperature. If this is any indication of things to come we should be in for an epic spring! Along with Spotted Bay Bass and Halibut we have been doing some shark fishing with good results. Leopard Sharks up to 6ft are the prize catch but we have also been seeing some nice size Angel Sharks which are one of the coolest species we have in our bay. We are looking forward to what Spring has to offer!
